An early George III sweet-meat basket, the oval body rising to the scroll pierced border and twist swing handle. Hallmarked Edward Aldridge I, London 1762. Maximum length measuring 5 1/2 inches (14 cm), weight 3.1 ozt (98 grams).

Condition

The lot displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The hallmarks are clear and legible. Small dints and bumps. Minor repairs to piercing.
