Jade
In Asia, jade is the most popular and most precious of all stones, symbolizing purity and excellence. The Chinese, for instance, consider jade a perfect creation of the masculine principle of nature and it is found in all areas of life and throughout all periods of history. It appears in a variety of colors, ranging from white to dark green. In ancient China jade was believed to have magical powers and pieces of jade were given to the deceased as funerary objects. To this day a healing and protective effect is attributed to jade.
