A 19th century John Rogers Group entitled "The Council of War". Depicts a seated Abraham Lincoln as he consults with Secretary of War Edwin Stanton and General Ulysses S. Grant. Grant is shown pointing to the map, while Stanton wipes his glasses. Impressed title and "Patented March, 1868" on base. Wear, repainted surface, several older repairs including Grant's right arm, Lincoln's map and Stanton's hands, rear corner of the base. 24" high overall. ESTIMATE $3,000-4,000
