This is a luxury Chanel 2.55 small double flap back leather handbag manufactured by the fashion house of Chanel. Since its introduction in 1955, the term refers to the very first release of Chanel bags which occurred in February of year 1955, there have been several variations of the original design like the Chanel Classic Flap and the Chanel Reissue 2.55 bags. This handbag is made from luxurious lambskin leather and stitched into an iconic herringbone pattern on the exterior. The interior is lined in fabulous leather with three patch pockets. The bag has a polished silver tone Chanel double CC turn-style lock and a double-chain shoulder strap, attached by leather-threaded chain inserted though eyelets.



Condition:

The bag is in a good condition with usual signs of wear. The leather is heavier rubbed along the edges and appears slightly soiled altogether. In places pressure marks. The dimensions of the bag measure c. 15 x 26 x 8 cm.



CHANEL

Gabrielle Bonheur Chasnel, also known as Coco Chanel, is one of the most influential fashion designers of the 20th century. Known for her avant-garde and seductive style during the 1920s, her trend setting designs paved the way for what fashion has become today. Coco Chanel became the first great couturière because she adopted a new androgynous style made out of jersey. By the early 20s, Chanel launched her signature cardigan jacket and the following year matched its success with her versatile, semi-formal ‘little black dress’. Both pieces quickly became a Chanel trademark and an enduring fashion standard. To the jacket, she added the luxury Chanel Classic Flapbag 2.55, named after its launch in February 1955. Coco Chanel died on 10 January 1971 at the Hotel Ritz in Paris where she had a residence for more than 30 years. Since 1983, Karl Lagerfeld has been creative director of Chanel's fashion house. His contemporary creations are marked by unconventionality, perfectionism and uniqueness.
