Description
Japanese, Late 19th/Early 20th century. Pair of Japanese export porcelain plates of circular form hand decorated with enamels throughout, English armorial shield in green with arrows and stag above wavering ribbon with Latin motto "PRO PATRIA SEMPER"( roughly translated to: Rest in Toil), pink, yellow and red flowers accented in gilt on white ground. Bottom with four character Fukagama mark in red over glaze. Approximate diameter 8.5".
