Description
After Fernand Paillet (French, 1850-1918). "Orientalist Horseman Scanning the Horizon", cast bronze, signed to base "F. Paillet". Well modeled naturalistic figural sculpture depicting an Orientalist or Arab man on horseback wearing traditional robes and hat with rifle strung over his shoulder pointing skyward as he hoods brow with one hand and looks into the distance, the horse standing square on four feet on a rocky landscape ovular plinth and calmly twisting head to one side. Sculpture overall to a second conforming bronze plinth. Overall approximate height 15.25", width 11.5", depth 4.75".
