Circa 1800 gold and vermeil pocket watch. Inscribed, "Jerome Napoleon - Roi des Deux Siciles - 1807" then having the Napoleon "N" monogram. Believed to have been given as a wedding gift to Napoleon's younger brother
Jerome in 1807 as a gift for Jerome's wedding on August 22nd 1807 to Princess Catharina Frederica of Wurttemberg. Jerome ruled Westphalia, now a portion of Germany, from 1807 to 1813. The first portion of the
inscription and date is believed to be a reference to the aforementioned. The portion that translates to the "king of two siciles" is believed to be for his brother, who would have given this a gift, Joseph who was at
that time the king of Sicily and Naples.
