Description

Late 19th/early 20th century, French, surmounted by dual flip-up pierced gilt-bronze bookends, each suspending a hinged ovoid inkwell topped with an en-flambeau finial, raised on a handled beveled coromandel base faced with a single drawer with a fitted interior, the outermost compartments each mounted with a flip-up brass candlestick, 8'' H x 19.5'' W x 7.75'' D, est: $800/1200
Provenance: Private Collection, Laguna Beach, CA

Condition

With bookends extended: 10.25'' H x 25.75'' W. Overall good condition, with general light marks, scratches, wear and darkening to gilt bronze commensurate with age. Drawer with a crack running length of bottom. Drawer sticks somewhat. With a crack and repair to lower left molding.
