Pair of early 20th c. Henry Ford 16 ¼” (height) x 16” (length) round painted chalkware wall plaques. Designed by Anthony De Francisci, the plaques show a raised profile of Ford. To the right of the profile is the caduceus medical profession symbol, which refers to the industries of medical research & pharmaceuticals which the Ford Co. supported in Detroit, & the words Henry Ford (both raised). This particular image was originally commissioned as a medal in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Ford Co. These may have been produced to commemorate the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. CONDITION: Both have areas with wear & chips along front & backside edges. 1 has green paint residue along bottom.
