On stretcher verso, title, size, medium, copyright reserved, and artist's name. Also labels Overland Gallery, Maxwell Galleries Ltd, San Francisco with alternate title "New Planting." Housed in gold leaf frame with carved signature and date verso, Milli O '99. Gary Ernest Smith was born and raised in an isolated farming community in Oregon. Following years of artistic training and experimentation, his subject matter began to emerge based on the rural life-style and values associated with hard work and self-reliance. The artist considers his style "minimal" and seeks to express the essence and simplicity of each subject with bold form a and color.
