ROLEX - a fine and rare gentleman's Oyster Perpetual Day-Date bracelet watch. Circa 1979. 18ct yellow gold case with fluted bezel. Reference 18038, serial 6411034. Signed automatic calibre 3055 with quick date set. Distinctive lapis lazuli dial, yellow metal bordered day and date apertures to twelve and six. Fitted to a signed 18ct yellow gold Jubilee bracelet with Crownclasp. 36mm.This Day-Date is unusual in the dial choice; a factory piece machined from lapis lazuli. Due to the nature of the stone, no two dials are the same, making this a unique piece.

Movement is currently functioning. Movement has scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with general wear visible to the naked eye. Original factory dial appears to be in a lightly worn condition from general wear with marks and scratches when viewed under a x4 loupe. There is a light scratch running up from the six o'clock position. The coronet has scuff marks. Day markers are in Spanish Hands show marks and tarnishing. Glass has chips to the edges. Case shows light scratches and marks. Crown screws down and is currently functioning correctly; the surface has light scratches and marking viewed under a x4 loupe. Bracelet has light scratches and some signs of light stretching to links. End link to six o'clock is stuck in place as the spring bar cannot be depressed enough to clear the hole and release it. Clasp is currently functioning and shows light scratches and marks Bracelet measures approximately 17cm including case. This lot comes with an incomplete box but no papers.
