In walnut, including a large triple back sofa, two closed back and arm upholstered gentlemans chairs, and four upholstered open back and arm ladies armchairs. Decorated with carved rosettes, vining floral scroll work and engraved floral designs, drops at corners of crest rails and arms, bow front seat rail and turned legs. The sofa is 77 1/2" long x 28" deep x 47" high, while gents chairs are 44" high and ladies are 41" high. All in original varnish finish, the sofa and gents chairs are in red tufted upholstery, while the ladies is in original cream colored upholstery. John Jelliff went into the cabinet making business in on his own in 1853 in Newark, N.J. and the business continued into the late 19th century.
