Item Details

Description

A matched pair of antique (circa 1870-1880s) Victorian motto Samplers. The Samplers are worked in wool on a paperboard backing and is sometimes referred to as a "Punched Paper" Sampler. The Samplers are marked "What is Home Without Mother" and "What is Home Without Father".

Shipping & Insurance is $35.00 within the USA, foreign shipping rates are determined by destination.

Condition

The pair are in their original chip carved blue frames and are complete with old glass and the old wood backboards. Overall dimensions are 22 5/8" x 10 1/8" including the frames. The Motto samplers are in good overall condition. The only thing to note is overall toning to the punched paper which is common. There are some sewn repairs to the paper and wrinkles which could be remedy by adjusting the backboards if you wish, see photos.
