Description
Rare Houdin Glass Dial Mystery Swinger Clock. Heavy 7 in. beveled glass dial signed "Ch. Schwalb Lutzenrath, Bruges", has reverse gilt painted hour numerals, pierced decorated and engraved gilt hands with counter balance and small mystery escapement and pendulum behind the hands. Dial is mounted at the top of a large 2 tone gridiron pendulum hanging from a wall bracket on a knife edge suspension with cructch post below; has a 3.5 in. star studded spherical bob with blue finish, the bob contains the round brass 8 day spring driven movement, numbered 883, which powers the clock and has an inverted pendulum crutch reaching up from the top of the sphere, applied brass monogram tag on the front of the ball has initials "B.P.". In excellent condition with no chips to the glass dial, in running condition. 21.75 in. high x 4 in. deep. Weight: 4 lbs.
