Pre-Columbian, northern Peru, Chancay, ca 900 to 1300 CE. Attractive textile panel in shades of red, gold, pink and brown depicting two standing figures, each holding a pair of staffs in their hands and large headdresses atop their pointed heads. Size: 4" W x 6.5" H (10.2 cm x 16.5 cm).
Provenance: Ex-Paul and Louise Bernheimer collection, Cambridge, MA and Laguna Woods, CA., acquired before 1980.
