Description
Jules Cheret (1836-1932, France), 1897 color lithograph titled, "Jardin de Paris" with embossed Maitres de l'Affiche stamp, 11.4"h x 15.8"w (29 x 40 cm), conservation framed with thick linen mat, 24.625"h x 20.75"w.
The Maitres de l'Affiche produced miniature lithographic plates between 1895 to 1900 after the best of the Belle Epoque Advertising posters. It was a subscription service and allowed 19th century collectors to assemble 256 different advertising posters.
PROVENANCE: From the living collection of a prominent NYU Med Graduate, Surgical Doctor of Medicine, now in Investments and Medical Private Practice; and his wife, an Architectural Interiors Professional with a focus on Universal Design.You are buying these pieces from their own original Estate collection, and they are the original owners of these pieces, initially purchased directly from their world-wide gallery travel and now offered on the market here for the first time ever.
