Description
AMERICAN FREE-BLOWN VASE WITH WITCH BALL COVER, brilliant peacock blue lead glass, the vase with medium trumpet-form bowl and thick compressed globular base with ringed shoulder, raised on an applied spool-like stem and thick circular foot with rough pontil mark. The slightly ovoid ball having swirling striations and a rough pontil mark with 1/8" opening. Ball with "L.84.1.22" accession number at hole and vase with "L.84.1.23" accession number under foot. Probably New England. Mid 19th century. 13" HOA; vase 9 3/8" H, 3 1/4" D rim, 3 1/4" D foot.
