BROOKLYN / GIANT PRISM WITH THUMBPRINT BAND EAPG PUNCH BOWL / OPEN COMPOTE, colorless lead glass, hemispherical bowl with 48-scallop rim, raised on an Early Thumbprint/Argus base having a hollow 12-flute stem and 24-scallop foot with single row of 24 thumbprints underneath, wafer construction. Bakewell, Pears & Co., Pittsburgh. Third quarter 19th century. 11 3/8" H, 12" D rim, 7 3/8" D foot.

Catalogue Note: This is only the second example of this massive bowl that we have sold. An extremely impressive specimen of American flint glass on the same level as its sister Early Thumbprint/Argus punch bowl.
