Part of a large collection of black dolls from the same Charleston SC family, played with, treasured and collected for over 100 years to be sold in this auction.1. small hand stitched fabric round "ladybug doll, done with a quilt scrap, felt legs and arms, wool hair and embroidered face, 5 tall. 2. Black stockinette doll yarn hand painted mouth, missing button eyes- small hole where eye was removed. 6 1/2 tall 3. Antique yoyo quilt scrap had sewn doll. Her head is one yoyo quilt circle, yarn hair, embroidered face, feedsack dress, hole to top of head, this is a wonderful example of Americana, 8 tall. 4. A 1996 Hale House Spool Doll with yarn hair in very good condition 7 tall. 5. A cloth rag doll with hand painted face, yarn hair with ribbons, a quilt dress, pantaloons and a hand embroidered apron. 7 1/2. PROVENANCE: A Charleston SC Private Family Collection.
