This sculpture is patinaed and is cold painted bronze with bone/ivory inserts. This is an exceptional bronze after Demetre Chiparus, ivory, marble, onyx sculpture. He was one of the leading and most famous sculptors of his time in the art deco movement. The sculpture was cast with the hot wax method and carved after the original model signed by Chiparus. He was born in 1886 in Romania and died in Paris in 1947. Includes certificate of authenticity. This is a museum Quality sculpture. His work was influenced by an interest in Egypt after Pharaoh Tutankhamens tomb was excavated.
