108-107 BC. Obv: head of Piety right with PIETAS behind. Rev: Amphinomus carrying his father with L. to right and M HERENNI to left (with HE ligated). Sear 185; Cr. 308/1b; Syd. 567a; BMC 1272 variant (pellet after letter); RSC Herennia 1a. The reverse type records the brothers Amphinomus and Anapias of Catana who, during the eruption of mount Etna, carried their parents to safety. 3.40 grams. [No Reserve]
