( Lady Sarah) An Unfortunate Mother's Advice to her Absent Daughters; in a Letter to Miss Pennington , first edition, signed by the author on final p., lacks half-title, light browning to margins, contemporary speckled calf, gilt, spine gilt in compartments with morocco label, light rubbing but a clean and excellent copy overall, 8vo, by S.Chandler, 1761. A scarce work. Barred from contact with her children by her husband, Lady Pennington chose communication through this published letter "a curious combination of conduct manual and scandalous memoir" (ODNB).
