Description: 19th century real woven hair bracelets.(1.) The smaller one, .25" wide has gold plated mounts with initials engraved in center. (2) The larger one has engraved gold mounts with pink oval cut glass in the center.

History: Hairwork, or jewelry made of human hair has appeared throughout the history of craft work. Hair has often played a part in myths and legends; in a Swedish book of proverbs one can read that “rings and bracelets of hair increase love”.
