Laurent Fries (Died 1532). Strassburg: c. 1522-1535. Woodcut. 15 1/4 x 19 inches. First Printed Map of China, here in 2nd state with the banner title of the first state removed from outside the top border. Derived from mediaeval sources, notably the journey of Marco Polo.
