TWO JAPANESE CARVED IVORY NETSUKE
Meiji Period, late 19th/ early 20th century
The first example modelled as a fruit seller weighing some of his produce, with a basket at his feet, signed to the base; the second example depicts a Kitsunetsuki, dressed as a woman but with the ears of a fox, the face rotating to portray the transition from human to possessed, with a two-character signature to the base.
Measuring H 1¾ inches and H 2 inches respectively
