Description
A lot of 3 literary text fragments on vellum with neatly penned text. The far left fragment is a fragment of an unidentified Greek literary text copied out in sloping capital letters, c. 6th-8th Century AD. The fragments depicted on the right and central bottom are fragments from an unidentified Coptic literary text and makes mention of 'glory' and 'servant', c. 5th-6th Century AD. Fragments measure 5 1/8 in x 3 1/4 in (12.8 x 8.3 cm); 3 3/8 in x 1 3/4 in (8.7 x 4.5 cm) and roughly 2 1/4 in x 2 1/4 in (5.7 x 5.7 cm) Kept within a Riker type mount.Ex Hamdy Sakr collection; previously in the private collection of Alex Anckonie III, acquired during his time in the Navy in the 1960's - 1970's.
