Description

KPM-Style Porcelain Plaque of "Gute Nacht", ca. 1900, after the painting of the same name by Georg Hom (German, 1839-1911), the plaque depicting a young woman shading a candle with her hand, with an indistinct impressed mark, mounted in an Italian giltwood frame of the same period, plaque, h. 5-3/4", w. 4", overall, h. 11-1/4", w. 9-1/2".

Condition

In overall good condition. Impressed mark: "MR" encircled and "107". Two small, faint surface firing dimples underglaze and a glaze "pinprick". Frame generally good with typical scattered rubbing to the gilt and several old repairs--all consistent with age.
