The magnificent Meissen style chandelier is profusely covered with floral and vegetal motifs, giving it a very romantic touch. Basket-shaped base, baluster and arms are set all over with different colored, appliqué flowers; the florid overall view is also supported by the filigree delicately painted bouquets. Seated on the shaft are three small figurines sculpted in the round: three putti are looking slightly mischievously from above and presumably represent allegories of spring, summer and autumn. A fine gold heightening harmoniously completes the artistic impression of the imposing chandelier.

Condition:
The chandelier bears heavier signs of age and wear and has been restored at some areas. The flower and leaf motifs at base, shaft and arms partially with blemishes and chips. In places small hairline cracks. The pendants with several blemishes and bumps. The height measures c. 45 cm and the diameter is c. 62 cm. The lamp was not tested on functionality; no guarantee on permanent functionality. (nlu)
