(The numbered street came long after his demise). The home was cutting edge for its time, it was fully electric. The entrance way opened into a huge rotunda, where a nymph adorned a water fountain. There was a balcony around the second floor. The dome ceiling was of stained glass behind which was an array of (mood) colored lights that was controlled by a huge block of switches. The floors were wide planks of teak. The living room and dining rooms walls were covered in one inch thick, solid oak panels 3/4 high up the walls. There were four fireplaces. Upstairs and downstairs servants quarters. If the winning bidder is interested in hearing more about Alan Dale and the building The consignor would love to talk about it!Harry Von Zell of radio fame lived here as well as other luminaries. Albert Schweitzer was a guest before setting up his leper colony in Africa. Actors of stage and screen were frequent visitors. Mae Robson was a close friend and next door neighbor.
