Far East, India, Northern Kerala / Southern Coastal Karnataka, Bhuta culture, less than 500 yrs old. A rare and quite delightful bronze animal, perhaps a tapir or a wild boar, standing on all four legs, with petite rounded ears, a curved tail, a long snout, and delineated genitalia. Lovely green patina! Size: 4-3/4" L x 2-7/8"H.
Provenance: Ex-private southern California collection, acquired before 2000.
