Description
A Dressel short globe lantern frame with EL stamped on the lid. This frame dates to the post merger of the Delaware Lackawanna & Western Railroad and the Erie Railroad. This merger led to some interesting train spotting the the 1960's in Northern Jersey. I remember it well! These Dressel frames have a cotter pin that holds the lid on. You can take the lid off for cleaning. A nice feature. This lantern comes with an Adlake #400 pot and burner. By the 1960s I would guess that Dressel wasn't even producing pots for Brakeman lanterns.
The globe is a standard 3" tall Adlake Kero model with ADLAKE KERO cast above the belly. The top edge is very rough. One picture shows this clearly. The globe also has the Corning Cnx logo cast on the back side.
