Description
AUGUSTA CO., VA PAINTED POPLAR PIE SAFE, rectangular top above two doors, raised on tall plain-turned legs. Each door and end features a large joined multi-sheet tin nailed to the frames and hand punched with six-petal rosettes and quarter fans. Poplar secondary wood, doors with original small brass knobs. Case with original dry oxidized red painted surface, tins with traces of original green paint.. Second quarter 19th century. 55" h, 50" w, 22 1/2" d
