c. 1880 Castle Hedingham (1864 - 1901) founded by Edward Bingham. High relief molded, majolica pottery dish depicting the Virtues: Honesty, Acvtvs, Fidelis (Fidelity), Nobilis (Nobility), Placida and Svperbvs. 2.375"h x 10"d. Castle Hedingham majolica can be found in the permanent collection of the Fitzwilliam Museum (Object Number: C.99-1928, C.98-1928) and the Braintree Museum, UK. PROVENANCE: Directly from a second generation collection and estate inventory of distinguished world-wide collectors, travelers and esteemed New England Antique Dealers from Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
Condition
Firing marks under lip and one small ship to foot, otherwise free of chips, cracks and repairs.
