Description
A late 19th century gold stickpin. Of marquise-shape outline, the glazed ivory panel, painted to depict Michelangelo's David at the Accademia gallery. Length of stickpin head 2.3cms. Weight 2.9gms.
Overall condition fair. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Discolouration to the reverse, possible repairs. Ivory has discoloured cracks, visible across the body of David, with small chips to the rim. Glass has large chips to the edge, general moderate abrasion. Wear to the mount.
