This is a NEWLY MADE BUG BROOCH PIN that was made in an ANTIQUE VICTORIAN STYLE from SILVER-GILT (sterling silver gilded with gold). It is a BROOCH PIN, but you could also wear it as a pendant if you strung a chain through its antennae. The WINGS MOVE UP AND DOWN, so the pin will have a different look depending which direction you wear it. The bug is set with 87 ROSE CUT DIAMONDS that are light grayish in color and weigh approx. .50 ctw. The bug is also prong-set with 2 NATURAL FULL OPALS (not doublets) that weigh approx. 2.5 ctw. These is 1 round and 1 pear shaped opal and both are CABOCHON CUTS. They have BLUE-GREEN as the primary color with FLASHES OF ORANGE. These opals are of fine quality and they have a closed back setting for better display. The bug"s eyes are set with 2 NATURAL BLUE SAPPHIRES that are round cabochon cuts weighing approx. .17 ctw. The bug measures 1-1/8"? long by 1-3/4"? at the widest point when the wings are opened. The total weight is 6.7 grams. We are the maker and these BUGS HAVE BEEN A HUGE HIT AT THE TRADE SHOWS!
