Sam Francis
This original Sam Francis lithograph was created for the portfolio " Papierski" that included 7 different lithographs. Published by Editions Daniel Papierski, Paris and printed by L'Atelier Gardner Lithograph, Buena Park, CA in 1992. The seven lithographs were created between 1973 - 1984 and were finally published in 1992 to accompany the publication of the Sam Francis Monograph by Yves Michaud in Paris.
The reference number for this lithographs is : SF350 and this can be found in the Sam Francis Catalog Raisonne 1960-1990 addendum.
Once again, this lithograph is in MINT condition as it has never been framed and has been in archival storage since 1992 !!! It is just a beautiful work and one of the last portfolios produced by Sam Francis before he passed away. The colors are so impressive and so Sam Francis. This lithograph is gorgeous. This lithograph provenance is unique as this was acquired direct from the lithographer (David Gardern of Gardner Lithograph) and not a gallery! David Gardner was a highly recognized printer and aside from these Sam Francis, he also did work for Hockney and was the printer for Ansel Adams for 40 years.
