Description
A letter of indenture between Bernard Moore & John Spotswood in Culpeper County, VA. Signed on March 15, 1773. Sight, 13" x 16 1/2"; frame, 18 1/4" x 21 1/2". John Spotswood was a nephew of Colonial Lieutenant Governor Alexander Spotswood, famed for his Knights of the Golden Horseshoe expedition into the frontier beyond the Blue Ridge Mountains in the early 18th century.
