Description
English, second half of 18th century. Chippendale period carved pie crust round tilt top tea table in rosewood, turned wood birdcage on a ornate carved (leaf tip and undulating fluting) and ring turned baluster shaft on a tripod base with shell and C scroll carved knees and feet. Unmarked. Overall approximate height, diameter of top . Approximate height (top down) 29.5", diameter 28.75". Provenance: Matthews and Shank Fine Antiques, Shepherdstown, West Virginia whereby acquired by Dr. Woody and Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia. Note: Copy of handwritten invoice on Matthews and Shank Fine Antiques stationery available upon request.
