Description
German, 17th century. A carved oak relief panel depicting Prudence, one of the four Cardinal virtues, personified as a female figure in full length holding a hand mirror and a snake and standing under an architectural arch in a landscape, above the arch to left and right with carved putti masks, and below figure with a carved plaque inscribed "PRVDENTIA" over scrolls. Approximately 16" x 11.25". Provenance: From the Estate of Dr. Woody Cobbs and Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia.
