Description
Luen Hing (Chinese (Shanghai), early 20th century Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). A 25 piece 900 silver Chinese export cocktail set comprising a three piece martini shaker, 12 shot cups, and 12 footed cordials, each piece with molded 4-clawed dragons and with allover chased "hammered" decoration. Each piece to underside with impressed maker's mark "LH" beside "90" for .900 silver purity, and a calligraphic cartouche. Shaker approximate height 9.375", diameter 4.125". Shot height 2.25". Cordial height 4.375". Total approximate weight 68.4 troy ounces.
Condition
Overall good condition. Minor scratches to interior of vermeil on shot glasses likely from stacking them inside one another. A couple of shots with very minute dings to rim. Some interior seams more visible then others on shots and cordials. Two cordials with dents to mouth rim with creased interior. Two cordials with irregular shaped mouth. Two cordials with dings to bowls, one of these also with raised interior surface and pitting. One cordial with exterior pitting. Very minor pitting to exterior foot. Shaker lid with small hole to exterior and to the interior mounted with 'coil' probably for aeration (see image #7 for hole). Collar of shaker lid and mouth rim of shaker with small dings commensurate with use and contact with each other. Body of shaker with minor/scarce pitting and a couple of small dings; not distracting.
