CHINESE WOVEN HANGING SCROLLS, LOT OF TWO, one example depicting a woman in flowing dress with two boys playing around her, the other example depicting two young women in a garden, one holding a fan and the other holding a lotus blossom; each primarily silk with highlights in gold-leaf thread, cloth backing, and silk border, the second example with cloth strip along top edge for a hanging rod. Late 19th/first half 20th century. The first 45" x 21 3/4", the second 47 3/8" x 24".
Expected toning and some splitting or broken threads, each with crease/rippling across the center; first example with some scattered stains, in particular a water stain to upper right corner, and a tear to the top edge border; the second example with heavy water stains throughout.
