A THOMAS ERNST HALLER AG MINIATURE PORTABLE ALARM CLOCK AND MANTLE DISPLAY CASE, GERMAN, CIRCA 1910, the diminutive clock's metal barrel case enclosing a gilt interior framing the cream paper dial presenting Arabic chapters and black enamel hands under the maker's mark of a radiating gear setting like the sun beyond a horizon over "HALLER AG" labeled in black ink, bolstered and kept upright by two small metal pegs and made portable by the use of a horizontal eyelet handle on top, height: 3"; stored and displayed at the head of a hand crafted custom walnut case with a pitched roof bonnet over a rounded arch and columnar side panels leading to a solid trunk and square base housing a perpetual day calendar, with black Arabic numeral days, which scrolls between two manual pins to either side, height: 10 3/4".

Neither the clock nor the alarm was tested. The metal case may have once been entirely gilt, but now all that remains is the interior gilding. The exterior is base metal, much of which is rusted from age. The custom hand made walnut display case is in good stable condition. The perpetual calendar within the display case is easily changed, but the cloth appears frayed at each edge. Clearly and correctly marked.
