TWO VINTAGE STEEL BLADE KNIVES WITH LEATHER SCABBARDS, SUDAN AND MEXICO, EARLY 20TH CENTURY, one Sudanese knife with leather wrapped ovoid hilt continuing to "T" form guard and ending in a triangular flat iron blade pommel, surmounted by a double edged blade centering engraved line details, blade length: 7 5/8", within a conforming three colored sewn leather scabbard with braided leather belt hook and circular blade tip guard, length: 8"; together with a Mexican knife having hatch lines incised horn hilt and globular pommel, beneath a brass neck and "T" form finger guard, centering a serpentine single edged blade with a rectangular bolster enclosing engraved arrow on "X" and double star maker's mark, blade length: 6 1/2", within a conforming cut and white stitched brown leather scabbard with snap fastener above, "JOC" monogram and stylized flower over trailing foliage decoration, length: 9".
Condition
Good condition, each blade has small areas of surface rust, marks and scratches, horn finger guard on one has small chip, hilts have expected surface wear and dust buildup but both knives/daggers are in good shape.
