Description
A COLLECTION OF THREE ROYAL COPENHAGEN POLYCHROME PAINTED PORCELAIN FIGURES OF OWLS, GREEN AND BLUE MAKER'S MARKS, 20TH CENTURY, each painted in white or pastel color palette of pale dusty blues, grays, browns, and greens, with green underglaze crown Royal Copenhagen hallmark underfoot, the collection comprising "Snowy Owl," no. 1829, circa 1975-1979, originally designed by Peter Herold (Danish 1879-1920), the white bird with gray accented feathers perched with it's head turned to it's left with wings tucked and tail down to balance with "Herold" embossed signature on the naturalistic base of green leaves and tree branches topped by white snow reversing to an underside with green maker's mark surmounting blue triple wave and painter's uppercase "OH" initials above green "1829, height: 15 3/4"; "Hornugle," no. 1331, circa 1980-1984, originally designed by Peter Herold, the dark gray, brown, and blue nocturnal bird with long ears, or horns, perked and looking back with it's head turned to it's left and large open black eyes perched with delineated wings tucked and tail down for balance with "Herold" alongside "1911" embossed signature on the naturalistic base of green pine needles and pine cones reversing to an underside with green maker's mark surmounting blue triple wave and painter's uppercase "I/G" initials above green "1331," height: 14"; "Owl Pair," no. 283, circa 1975-1979, originally designed by Arnold Krog (Danish 1856-1931), two brown and gray stylized owls with white heart shaped faces warming up side by side, one with one eye open with "AK" embossed monogram on the naturalistic circular base of pierced branches forming a nest reversing to a hollow underside stamped "JEN" below green maker's mark surmounting blue triple wave and painter's uppercase "K/O" initials and green "283," height: 12 1/2". Condition
All three fine porcelain Royal Copenhagen pieces in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. All clearly and correctly marked.
