AN AFRICAN TRIBAL BLACK OXIDIZED IRON BLADE AX HEAD ON WOOD HANDLE, POSSIBLY EAST AFRICA, FIRST HALF 20TH CENTURY, the tapering triangular sharpened ax blade with thick shaped rectangular neck continuing to a conforming head centering a circular opening for the cylindrical wood handle, ax head width: 4 1/2"; wood handle length: 30". Provenance: This ax formed part of the Tribal Collection amassed by the Seldens from the 1940's through the 1960's.
