Inlaid and Bronze-Mounted Cabinet
New York, circa 1870s, with stepped superstructure over an urn and griffin marquetry-inlaid single door, shelved and maple-lined interior flanked by carved ebonized and parcel gilt columns with gilt bronze capitals, 59-1/2 x 38 x 18-1/2 in.. Condition: generally good condition, losses to top central inlaid rosette, scattered shrinkage cracks and separations, wear and minor chips at lower moldings, door lacking escutcheon, marquetry panel with some surface cracks and checking, superstructure with one area of finish loss (probably a water stain). Provenance: Collection of Dr. Joe Hale, Raleigh, North Carolina
