Description: Gilt decorated and finely painted Satsuma vase, with a four character signature to bottom. A scene of two men in conversation.
History: Satsuma is a Japanese pottery with a distinctive creamy beige crackled glaze. Most of the pieces were decorated with blue, red, green, orange, or gold. Almost all Satsuma found today was made after 1860, especially during the Meiji Period, 1868-1912.
