About Bethlehem Art Gallery. In May of 1957, John and Mary Gould opened the doors of the Bethlehem Art Gallery. Their vision was to fill the region's need of a venue for artists to display their talents, to provide a place where people could receive art instruction and to provide full custom framing service. Take a moment to travel back to view the people, places and events which were the seeds for the creation of the Bethlehem Art Gallery. A few years after John and Mary Gould moved their four sons from Queens Village in New York City to Cornwall New York, a group called the "Fourteen Artists" started meeting for the purposes of show-casing their art and developing their talents. Two of the artists, John Gould and Coulton Waugh decided they needed a place to display art and give lectures and instruction. They found the Bethlehem Fellowship Hall at Bethlehem Church was a wonderful location suited to all these needs.
