Description
This is a fully beaded flat bag from the Yakima Native American Indians from circa 1910-1920. Provenance: This is from a large Native American Beadwork private collection in Wyoming and was recovered from the Mule Creek Trading Post in Capitan, New Mexico. The piece shows an Indian tanned hide with wonderful geometric glass trade seed beads from the 19th Century in chalk white, sky blue, faceted red, iridescent faceted, and iridescent gold. The bag is done an early trade wool and has metal snaps. The piece shows overall good condition and excellent craftsmanship. Measures when closed 7.25"x6 7/8" with a 5" top strap. When flap is open the bag is 14.25"L.
