ZEPPELIN SOUVENIRS
Lot of four German zeppelin-related souvenir items, includes: A spoon, 8" long, bearing an image of an early airship on the handle, along with the facsimile signature of Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin and an inscription stating that the spoon was cast from metal left over from the construction of the airships; a yellow celluloid pocket folding comb, 4 3/4"long, in the shape of a zeppelin; a card game, "Mit 'Graf Zeppelin' Um Die Erde" ("With 'Graf Zeppelin' Around the World"), in German, with cards featuring images of the airship, passengers, crew, and various destinations, etc., with instructions, all housed in a green paperboard box, 3 1/2" x 5" x 1 1/4", featuring an image of Ferdinand von Zeppelin on the cover; and a postcard depicting the airship "Graf Zeppelin", unused but franked aboard the airship, July 17, 1939. The postcard bears a 3/4" vertical tear at the bottom margin, otherwise the items are in very good condition.
